One connected workflow

From the first sheet
to the finished review.

Keep the document, the discussion, and the measurements together. FieldLine gives each part of the review a place, from organizing pages to preparing the files you hand over.

  1. Open & organize.

Bring PDFs and images into the workspace. Navigate pages, labels, bookmarks, and drawing sets so the right sheet is easy to find.

  2. Review & mark up.

Add notes, callouts, clouds, highlights, and stamps. Reuse tools and organize comments with layers, statuses, and replies.

  3. Calibrate & measure.

Set the drawing scale, take measurements, and review quantities alongside the markups that produced them.

  4. Save & deliver.

Keep an editable project, export a reviewed PDF or markup CSV, and prepare selected sheets for printing.

Built around the review

Make the comment.
Keep the context.

A drawing review is more than a collection of lines. Work with the tools, properties, and review information that explain what needs attention and what happens next.

Mark up

Put the right tool
on the page.

Use familiar drawing and annotation tools, then adjust the properties to suit the document and the review.

  • Text notes, callouts, clouds, arrows, and highlights
  • Lines, shapes, freehand drawing, and visual stamps
  • Reusable tools and saved appearance settings
  • Layers, grouping, alignment, and editable vertices

Track

Turn markups into
a useful record.

Use the Markups list to bring comments, measurements, and review progress into a structured view.

  • Review statuses and reply threads
  • Custom columns and filtered views
  • Named Spaces for organizing work by area
  • CSV exports for the next step in your workflow

Arrange

Build a workspace
that fits the job.

Keep the documents and controls you need within reach, whether you are reviewing one sheet or comparing several views.

  • Multiple document tabs and editable panes
  • Detached windows and synchronized views
  • Resizable panels and custom toolbar layouts
  • Dark, Light, Blueprint, and High contrast themes

Measurement & takeoff

Work from the drawing.
Keep the numbers connected.

Calibrate to a known dimension, choose the measurement type, and build a quantity record you can inspect on the page and in the Markups list.

LengthAreaPerimeterCountVolumeAngleRadius & diameterSlope & pitch

Start every drawing measurement with a known dimension and the correct units. Set separate scale regions where a sheet contains details at different scales.

  1. 1. Set the scale.

Use page calibration, named scale viewports, and independent X/Y calibration. Work in the units appropriate to the drawing.

  2. 2. Measure the work.

Trace lengths and perimeters, define areas, place counts, and calculate volume from a measured footprint and entered depth. Refine supported areas with cutouts and Dynamic Fill.

  3. 3. Review the quantities.

Keep measurements with their page, subject, and review information. Filter the Markups list and export the records to CSV.

Beyond the markup

Prepare the document.
Finish the job.

Bring the surrounding PDF tasks into the same application: page preparation, searchable scans, forms, controlled outputs, and repeatable document work.

Pages & drawing sets

Reorder, rotate, replace, crop, extract, and split pages. Manage labels, bookmarks, sheet references, revisions, and drawing logs.

Local OCR & image conversion

Turn supported images and multipage TIFFs into PDFs. Add searchable text using bundled English, French, Spanish, and German OCR models, with page-range and deskew options.

Forms & document content

Create and fill form fields, add calculations, and exchange structured form data. Edit supported source text runs and images with a preview before applying changes.

Compare & repeat

Use drawing overlays and visual comparison for revision review. Run supported batch workflows and reusable local FieldLine scripts for repeatable document tasks.

Protection & signatures

Work with password-protected PDFs, create protected copies, and use local signing and signature-verification tools. Signed-source preservation keeps the original signed document separate from review work.

Redaction & archival copies

Apply redaction to a separate raster PDF, or create an image-based PDF/A-1b archive with a local validation report. Retain the original editable project for future work.

Printing with control

Set up the sheet.
Send it to the printer.

Choose an installed Windows printer, review the sheet preview, and send the job directly from FieldLine’s print window.

  • Printer selection and driver Properties
  • Paper size, orientation, copies, and page filters
  • Rotation, scaling, centring, and position
  • Document and markup content controls
  • Current-view selections and multi-file print queues

Tray, colour, and duplex options follow the selected printer and driver. Save a print PDF when the deliverable needs to remain digital.

answers.

Read the EMPHOS FAQ →

Is FieldLine PDF available to download here yet?

The direct-sales release and 30-day trial are being prepared. This page introduces the product and planned offer; the public installer and purchase links will be added when that release is ready.

For a release enquiry, email info@emphosgroup.com.

Is the licence for professional and client work?

Yes. The individual FieldLine Professional licence permits personal and business work, including deliverables for clients. It is assigned to one person and covers up to three simultaneously activated Windows devices controlled by that person.

An organization can purchase licences for its users. One individual licence is not a shared team licence.

Are updates included, or is there a recurring fee?

Released FieldLine Professional application updates are included without an additional desktop-licence fee. The purchased desktop entitlement is perpetual, with no mandatory subscription or renewal fee.

Optional future services and products for other platforms would have their own offers.

When will my 30-day trial start?

The planned direct trial starts at first successful activation and lasts 30 consecutive days. It requires no payment card and does not automatically convert to a purchase. Downloading the installer does not start the clock, and reinstalling does not restart it.

Does FieldLine process my PDFs locally?

Yes. PDF document processing runs on your Windows computer. Account activation, licence validation, updates, and any separately selected services have their own network requirements.

Your documents remain yours. FieldLine is a separate PDF application and does not require a Heinrich or Aletheia purchase.

Can I keep an editable project and share a PDF?

Yes. Save an editable FieldLine project for ongoing work and export a reviewed PDF for delivery. Supported native annotations and XFDF interchange support review workflows, and the Markups list can be exported to CSV.

Keep the FieldLine project when you need to preserve its complete measurement and review information for later editing.

How do I make sure drawing measurements use the right scale?

Calibrate each drawing page against a known dimension and confirm the units before measuring. Use named scale viewports when a page contains details at different scales, and check the results against the source drawing.

Is FieldLine for Windows, Mac, or mobile?

FieldLine PDF is a Windows desktop application. The public installer will include the supported Windows and hardware requirements. This desktop offer does not include a Mac or mobile edition.

Are the course and practice files in the software ZIP?

No. Training is distributed separately. Use the course and practice download supplied for your release, or contact EMPHOS with your application version for the appropriate training information.

How will direct purchases differ from Microsoft Store purchases?

Direct purchases will use the EMPHOS website journey. Microsoft Store purchases follow Microsoft’s purchase and account process. Keep the receipt and use the activation instructions supplied for your purchase channel.
