Cookies, Storage & Your Choices

This Cookie Policy explains how EMPHOS Group Corporation (“EMPHOS Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on emphosgroup.com and related browser-based services. Our online store is powered by Shopify.

Read this alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information and how you can exercise your privacy rights. Section 5 explains the website, browser, and provider controls available to you.

Section 1

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files placed in your browser to keep a session working, remember a choice, or recognize a browser on a later visit. First-party cookies are associated with the website you visit. Third-party cookies are associated with another provider whose content or service is used on that website.

Similar technologies include browser local storage, session storage, pixels, and web beacons. Storage can retain preferences or identifiers; a pixel or beacon can report that a page, message, or feature was viewed. This policy uses “cookies” to refer to these technologies where they serve the same purposes.

Information associated with these technologies can include device or browser identifiers, IP addresses, language and region settings, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, and actions such as adding an item to a cart. When that information identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you, it is handled as personal information under our Privacy Policy.

Section 2

Cookie Categories

2.1 Essential operation

Essential cookies support functions such as security, sign-in, cart and checkout continuity, and remembering privacy choices. They are used to provide the website or a feature you request.

Essential cookies are normally outside the optional categories in a consent banner. You can still block or delete them using your browser, but doing so may prevent sign-in, checkout, or other requested features from working. Any exemption from consent depends on the cookie’s purpose and the applicable law.

2.2 Preferences and functionality

Preference storage can remember choices such as language, region, currency, or display settings. Whether a preference is necessary for a requested feature or optional depends on its purpose. Optional personalization is subject to the choices and consent requirements that apply to you.

2.3 Analytics and performance

Analytics technologies, where enabled, help us understand visits, page interactions, traffic sources, technical problems, and store performance. They may use browser or device identifiers. Reports may be aggregated, but the underlying information is not necessarily anonymous.

Shopify provides store analytics. Additional services, such as Google Analytics, fall within this category only where they are enabled. Consent requirements and your recorded choices apply to non-essential analytics.

2.4 Advertising and measurement

Advertising technologies, where enabled, can measure campaign results, attribute visits or purchases to advertising, and support interest-based advertising. Examples include advertising integrations from Google or Meta and Shopify advertising-related services. Their use depends on the services enabled for the store and the choices and legal requirements that apply.

Advertising partners may associate activity with identifiers or information from other sites and services. You can use the available advertising and data-sharing controls described below. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertisements.

Section 3

Shopify & Other Providers

Our website and online store are powered by Shopify. Shopify uses cookies to deliver commerce functions and, subject to the applicable settings and choices, analytics and other services. The examples below describe Shopify’s documented storefront cookies; which are present depends on the features used, region, and privacy choices.

Names and lifetimes can change as Shopify updates its platform. See the Shopify Cookie Policy for its current list, and the Shopify Privacy Policy for information about its processing.

Other services and embedded content

Payment, account, support, analytics, advertising, or embedded-content providers may use their own cookies when their services are available and used. Provider privacy notices explain their processing and controls.

We are responsible for the services we choose to integrate and for the privacy information and choices we provide. A provider may also process information for its own purposes under its privacy notice. Section 4

Storage & Retention

• Session cookies are intended to last for a browsing session. A browser’s session-restoration settings can affect when they are removed.
• Persistent cookies have an expiry time and may remain until they expire or are deleted. Some lifetimes renew when a feature is used.
• Local storage generally remains until it is cleared by the website, the application, or your browser. It does not automatically expire like a cookie.
• Session storage is tied to a browser tab or browsing session and is ordinarily cleared when that session ends.

The lifetime of a browser identifier is different from the retention of records already held by us or a provider. Deleting a cookie does not automatically delete an order, support request, or other server-side record. See our Privacy Policy for retention and personal-information requests.

Section 5

Manage Your Cookie Choices

5.1 Website privacy controls

Where the store presents a cookie banner or Cookie preferences link, use it to review the available purposes, accept or decline optional categories, and save your choices. You can return to those controls to change a previous choice. If you cannot find the controls or a choice is not being applied, contact us for help.

Choices may be saved for a particular browser or device. You may need to set them again after clearing site data, changing browsers, or using another device. A cookie choice does not change your email subscription preferences.

5.2 Browser controls

You can inspect, delete, or restrict cookies and website data in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking essential storage may sign you out, reset preferences, or interrupt checkout. Use your browser’s current instructions:

• Google Chrome: delete, allow, and manage cookies
• Mozilla Firefox: clear cookies and site data
• Apple Safari on Mac: manage cookies and website data
• Microsoft Edge: manage cookies

Deleting stored data is different from withdrawing consent through the website’s privacy controls. Use those controls as well when you want to change how optional technologies are used on future visits.

5.3 Provider controls

The Shopify Privacy Portal provides choices and requests relating to Shopify’s own processing. It complements the store’s controls; it does not manage every independent service that a merchant may use.

Where Google Analytics is enabled, Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. That tool applies to the Google Analytics activity it covers, rather than all cookies, all analytics providers, or mobile apps.

5.4 Browser privacy signals

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser signal used to communicate certain privacy choices, including an opt-out of sale or sharing where applicable. Shopify supports GPC for its advertising-related data-sharing controls. Applicable legally recognized opt-out signals are handled in accordance with the law.

The older Do Not Track (DNT) signal is different from GPC and is not a universal cookie control. You can use the website and browser controls above to make your choices directly.

Section 6

Consent & Withdrawal

Where the law requires consent for a cookie or similar technology, we ask for it before using that technology. Reading this policy, continuing to browse, or leaving a banner unanswered does not itself provide that consent.

You may decline optional purposes or withdraw consent through the applicable privacy controls. Withdrawal affects future use based on that consent; it does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. Essential functions and processing supported by another lawful basis are addressed separately.

A request for consent identifies the relevant purposes and gives you a way to make a choice. If a new purpose requires fresh consent, we will request it. Questions about a choice or an opt-out can be sent to info@emphosgroup.com.

Section 7

Website Storage & Software Settings

This policy covers cookies and similar storage used on our website and related browser-based services. EMPHOS software may separately store settings, project state, and other application data on your device. For example, Heinrich can retain local preferences and workspace state to support the application experience.

Website cookie preferences do not automatically change application settings, delete local projects, or change licence records. Use the controls and documentation for the product you are using. Product-specific privacy information explains any connected services and diagnostic options that apply.

Section 8

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our website, providers, features, or legal requirements change. The revised version will appear here with a new Last Updated date. We will provide further notice or request a new choice where required.
