This Is What EMPHOS Is Building — And Why Every Product Is the Same Mission

On the surface, a hearing aid and a code editor do not have much in common. Neither does a text-to-speech platform and an AI knowledge system. The EMPHOS product stack, to a casual observer, might look like a collection of unrelated bets — a few interesting projects from a small company in British Columbia still working out what it wants to be.
That reading misses the point entirely.
Every product EMPHOS builds is an expression of the same conviction: that technology built without empathy is technology built for the wrong reasons. The products are different because the people they serve are different, and the problems they solve are different. The conviction behind them is identical.

Haven — where the mission became visible
Haven is EMPHOS Group's AI assistant platform — the first product to reach a functioning state and the one that made the company's philosophy tangible to anyone who used it.
Haven is not a chat window. It is a calm, intelligent companion designed around presence rather than engagement — built to move work forward rather than to keep users in the interface longer. The Living Sphere, Haven's visual core, gives the product an identity that communicates rather than decorates. The AICL protocol layer, developed through more than 30,000 EMPHOS Labs experiments, delivers a measured 2,036-millisecond speed advantage over unstructured AI interaction.
Haven's tagline — Engineered for Presence — is the standard the entire EMPHOS stack is now held to. If a product does not meet that standard, it does not ship under the EMPHOS name.
Heinrich AI — the intelligence layer
Heinrich AI is Frequency Addressed Intelligence: a novel architecture for storing and retrieving knowledge that is fundamentally different from every major AI system deployed today.
Where language models predict, Heinrich retrieves. Where language models approximate, Heinrich is precise. Where language models hallucinate, Heinrich reports a gap. The distinction is not incremental — it is structural. Heinrich does not generate answers. It finds them. And when it cannot find them, it tells you so.
At 68 million knowledge concepts and still growing as of this writing, Heinrich is processing one of the largest structured knowledge bases assembled for AI use — on a consumer laptop, at 0.2% CPU, with a power consumption approximately 11,000 times lower per query than GPT-4o.

VOXIS — the voice layer
VOXIS is EMPHOS Group's physics-based voice synthesis engine. Where conventional text-to-speech systems produce voice that sounds generated — recognisably artificial, slightly wrong in rhythm and emphasis — VOXIS approaches voice from the physics of how human speech actually produces sound.
The distinction matters because presence is not just visual and not just functional. It is auditory. An AI assistant that speaks in a voice that feels inhuman undermines the sense of presence that every EMPHOS product is designed to create. VOXIS exists to solve that problem — to give the EMPHOS stack a voice that earns the same trust as every other element of the experience.
ETTS — Haven TTS Studio
ETTS — Haven TTS Studio — is the production-ready text-to-speech build platform that sits beneath the VOXIS voice layer. It is the infrastructure that makes professional, expressive voice output possible across every product in the stack that needs it.
ETTS is the less visible product in the EMPHOS suite. It does not face the end user directly. It faces the engineering layer that makes what the end user hears possible — and it does that work at production quality, with the same standards the rest of the stack is held to.
HAVEN Ear — the mission made hardware
HAVEN Ear is the product that makes the EMPHOS philosophy most concrete — and most ambitious.
A hearing aid. A real-time translator. A personal intelligence device that fits in your ear, runs entirely on-device, and gets smarter overnight through Heinrich synchronisation on its bedside dock. IP68 rated. Sixteen to twenty hour battery life. No cloud connection. A personal field that never leaves your home network.
The people HAVEN Ear serves most directly are the people the technology industry has served least well. Children with hearing difficulties. Elderly users for whom complex interfaces are barriers rather than tools. People in multilingual environments who navigate language gaps in real time every day. Kelly Meeds — EMPHOS Group Director and educational assistant specialising in children with special needs — brings the frontline perspective of someone who has watched technology either reach those people or fail them, and has made it her role to ensure EMPHOS never makes the second choice.
HAVEN Ear is scheduled for production hardware development with a Q4 2027 target. The thermal, power, and intelligence problems have been solved at the architectural level. What remains is building it.
CAMS Code — the developer's tool
CAMS Code is EMPHOS Group's local-first code editor — a development environment that brings the AICL protocol advantage and local AI assistance to the development workflow without cloud dependency, subscription models, or data leaving the developer's machine.
It is, in one sense, the most commercially immediate product in the EMPHOS stack. The developer tools market is large, the pain points are well understood, and the privacy and ownership argument for a local-first editor is one that resonates deeply with developers who have watched their code, their queries, and their work process become data for someone else's training runs.
CAMS Code is what the EMPHOS philosophy looks like when applied to the people who build software.
The conviction underneath all of it
